Implementation Week
Welcome to implementation week.
As a reminder, Change happens in small steps and giving yourself a week to implement it is one of the most self-loyal things you can do.
The intention of this week is for you to get a chance to implement what you have been learning by practicing self-loyalty in your day-to-day life. I say this every time, but I want you to remember:
It is an act of self-loyalty to catch up or re-listen to past lessons.
It is an act of self-loyalty to take a few days off from thinking about self-loyalty.
It is an act of self-loyalty to listen to the Ask Nancy Jane episodes because you haven’t had time.
it is an act of self-loyalty to start implementing what you have been learning in your real life.
The beauty of self-loyalty only you can decide—there is no right way to spend implementation week:)
If you are someone who wants more structure on how to piece all these ideas together, here is a tangible action step.
This week I am offering two and want you to pick the one that works best for you.
The most tangible step is to pick one or two mindfulness hacks and challenge yourself to do them multiple times a day—checking in with yourself each time. Asking questions like—how are you feeling today? And pause to hear the answer. The key point here is not to shame yourself for the answer. If you are tired, that’s ok. Just notice it.
The second step is to start noticing when you aren’t in your body. Noticing when you are numbing and overindulging or pushing past pain or saying yes when you should say no. Just notice it. Building awareness is important because we do these activities mindlessly, so the more we can build intentionality, the better. When you notice you are doing it. Don’t belittle or shame yourself (I know that is counter-intuitive; simply give yourself extra kindness). “Oh sweet pea, this is what we do when we get stressed—what is going on? Anything? If nothing comes to mind—that is ok. And you can decide to keep engaging in the activity or not; the important part is doing it with awareness—intentionally making the decision vs. mindlessly.—
Have a good week and if you have any questions, let me know via the Ask Nancy Jane form in the portal, and I will happily answer them! I will be back in your ears for our next theme, Self Loyalty, in a few days!
Take Care!
